The question of church union was discussed ; by the Christchurch Presbytery this morning when a resolution was carried unanimously opposing the union at .present!, holding “that the time is not ripe for an incorporating union between tlio Congregational, Methodist and! Presbyterian 'churches, but it realises that !here is a call for closer co-operation.” A conference is suggested to that end.
