CAPTAIN DE GROOT
CLAIM SETTLED .OUT OF COURT,

SYDNEY, November 17
A claim for five thousand pounds damages by Captain de Groot against, Mr Mark Gosling, th e former chief secretary of New 'South Wale s in the Lang Government; Mr Walter Childs, Chief Police Commissioner; and Mr William Mackay, Metropolitan Police Superintendent, has been settled out of court. The terms are not likely to he disclosed.
The claim arose out of the de Groot ribbon cutting incident at the opening of the harbour bridge in March, de Groot alleging wrongful arrest and falee imprisonment.
