The “Vossiche Zeitung” states that Chancellor von Papen. is expected to 'report to President Hindenburg later in the clay his failure to secure the cooperation of other Party leaders, and will tender his resignation. It is expected that the President will summon the Party leaders, including Herr Hitler, to discuss the situation, the Reichstag supporting, or at least tolerating, the present Cabinet. One authority forecasts President von Hindenburg will offer the Chancellorship to any Party in the Reichstag. If non© can fulfil this condition, then Captain von P'apen will become Dictator, and the Reichstag will be dessolved.

Others suggest that President Hindenburg will seek another Chancellor, whose record will excite less bitterness.

CHALLENGE by CATHOLIC PARTY

Chancellor von Paper's position is challenged by the hostility of the Catholic Centre Party and the Bavarian People’s Party, representing over eighty seats, thus following on the attitude of the socialists, criticised by Captain von Papon on Tuesday. Von Hindenburg lias accepted von Papen’s resignation, enabling a conference of party leaders with a view to the formation of a Government of National concentration. If efforts fail, von Hindenburg is expected to ask von Papen to resume office in face of a hostile vote in the Reichstag, a contingency which V-s arousing misgivihg among politicians, and leading to violation of the constitution.

The only possible Government with a majority would be a coalition between the Nazis and the Centre party.
