The final of last season’s singles championship was played last evening when Mr J. J. Breeze defeated Mr A. E. Benjamin by 25 to 9. The president (Mr C. J. King) then handed over the Duncan Cup to the winner, congratulating Mr ..'.Breeze on his success. The recipient suitably, replied.

There 'are 20 entries for this year’s singles championship which will be .played on the two life system, and the draw .for the first round which must be completed! by November 26th. is as follows.: — Sherman y. Benjamin. Cooper v. Breeze. Fleming v. King. Kerr v. Lodge. James v. Anderson. Wilson v. Stevenson. Bell v. Coles. Coolie v. Conning. Cox v. Lakin. Schultz v. Ward.
