ATTACKED BY BULL
RIDER’S NARROW ESCAPE. HORSE FATALLY INJURED. (Per Press Association —' Copyright.) MASTERTON, November 13. A ho'reeman had a narrow escape from seriou ß injury on the Tirauinea •Road, Turakina Valley, last week, when he was charged by an infuriated bull. Mr K. Reynolds, in company with Mr J. McGregor, was driving three Hereford bulls along the road when the beasts suddenly went ‘‘on the prod” and .started fighting among themselves. Mr Reynolds was about to ride up ,in an attempt to intervene, when on e of tire bulls whipped round and charged straight at him. Mr Reynolds immediately wheeled hjs horse, but was too late to avoid the impact and the. horse and r’der went over a steep ban>.' .nth the enraged .bull after them. The rider fell clear and managed to scramble away unhurt, but the horse was badly ripped and had to be destroyed. In the meantime the bull had quietened down and submitted to il>e driven away. '
