GENERATORS INSTALLED. , OAMARU, November 12. Vjrk hag been so far advanced on tihe power 1 house at the Waitaki hydroelectric works that the two alternators, or generators as they are more common’ v called, are mow installed, and {Mr T. E. Simpson, who has been engaged on the work on behalf of b;s ■firm, the English Electric Company, Ltd., will ]e,av e the hydro on November 22nd, when he will .proceed to Wellington to take leave of his firm'o New Zealand agents, . Messrs . Cory Wright and Salmon, Ltd. Mr Simpson will travel to Sydney, where he will join the Orient liner, Ons Ova, for England. In an interview, Mr Simpson said the possibilities for 'hydro-electric development on the Waitaki were almost beyond comprehension. Another five turbines could be installed furtuer up fthe. river, but, in any ca6e, the five turbines .already provided for would ■electrify the whole of the South Island railways, and then have power to spare for the main centres..
