CENTURY TO RICHARDSON. (Australian Pa » Association.) ADELAIDE, November 7. The South Australia v. England cirickct match was continued to-day under good conditions. The wicket need me faster under a tinge of summer. In© -attendance was eight thousand. Richardson, who made 134, gave a superlative display, he being forceful against all of tne English bowlers. His on-side play was particularly accurate. His innings was the bright spot in. up uphill light. He was dismissed by Ley land, who made a. particularly -smart catch at mid-off. The captain was batting for 235 minutes, and ho hit seventeen fours. The English fielding was alert. Bowes, who took 3 for 82, was bowling fast, and lie bumped high.
The South Australian hopes vanished early, but Grimmett renewed interest by twice square-cutting Wyatt to the boundary in his first over, and he reached seventeen, when he was smartly snapped up by Ames* whose wicket-keeping was masterly. Larwood did not bowl to-day.
The South Australian innings lusted for 269 minutes, aud realised 290 runs, Shut Australia in their second innings lost two wickets for 106 runs. South Australia realised the hopelessness of the position when Richardson departed for 25. He was effective in straight drives, hut he was obviously weary. Nitsehke played a dashing innings, hut he stepped out to Brown too confidently.
Lonergam and Oatohlove .played mostly on the defensive, and they were cautious when facing the hardworked bowler, Bowes. The. century took 117 minutes. The snores were as follows: ENGLAND.—-First Innings.

To-cTay the weather was fine, but hot, for the Sheffield Shield match,- New South Wales v. Victoria. On Saturday the correct New South Wales score at the end of the day was 4 for 358. In to-day play Hird’s bowling for New South Wales, and Alexander’s bowling for Victoria were the principal features. The New South Wales innings closed for 475. Victoria in their second innings only scored 150. Therefore New South Wales now require only eighty runs for an outright win. The principal scores were:—N.'S.W. —Bradman *3B, McCabe. 56, Kipps* 52 and Theak 39. ■ Victoria.—Woodfwll S 3, Thomas 24 not out.
