DRYNK QUANTITY OF KEROSENE

A child died while bn the way to Te Koputu Hospital (hear .Dargaville) as the result of drinking a quantity of kerosene.
Mrs Charles Powell was engaged in cleaning a carpet with kerosene at her home at Maropiu, and her small children were playing round her, including an infant daughter about twelve months old, one of twins. The mother had turned her back for a moment, when the child seized the uncorked bottle and swalllowed a quantity ot the liquid. \ Last winter the Powell home was destroyed by fire, while another child, also a twin, ’.died as the result of an accident.
