TO-DAY’S SITTING. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) WELLINGTON, October 21. The Ottawa debate was continued in the House of Representatives this morning. The leader of the Opposition moved an amendment to the ratification motion. This sought to qualify the approval of the agreement by excepting the change tending to destroy the measure of protection accorded by existing laws to commodities which could he economically produced in New Zealand, and provided always necessaries which could not be produced locally entered duty free. The debate is proceeding.
