BANNED PLAYS
NOW TO BE ACTED IN LONDON. LONDON, October 4. Plays, hitherto banned, or likely be banned,. by the Lord Chamberlain, will soon be performed at a new Independent Theatre Club, with headquarters at the Kiiigsway Theatre. Among these productions will be one called “Versailles,” by Emil Ludwig, in which reference will be made to the .arrival of Mr Lloyd George at Versailles with torn trousers, which he attributed to a dog stated to have bitten him. Other plays prepared for production -deal with Clemeneeau (in shorts doing - his ■ exercises); God and a negro heaven and a madman impersonating God; and other plays bearing'historical allusions.
