A Shanghai message states that a prolonged absehce of news from NeWcliwang, concerning Mrs Pawley and Cockran for the past twelve days, is arousing considerable anxiety as to the fate of the captives, though it is possible that continual rains are considerably delaying messages to the bandit camp.
