GO-SLOW

The slaughtermen at the Metropolitan Abattoirs, resenting the wage reduction, held a mass meeting and adopted a go-slow policy, which will affect the: private butchers and the export trade. It is understood that the men decided to reduce their tally from eighty to sixty sheep, cattle being reduced correspondingly. The master butchers intend to take drastic action to deal with the situation.

SYDNEY, October 8!

The go-slow tactics adopted by the slaughtermen at Homebush abattoirs and Riverstone meat works as a protest against wage cuts, led to a decision by the master butchers to work according to the award or not at all. Unless the men on Monday morning agree to kill in accordance with the award and take their grievances to the Arbitration Court, killing will bo suspended.

A temporary meat shortage in the city will follow, but the employers are making qrangements for emergency supplies.
