The strike of relief workers against the new rates of pay continues in the country districts and no work of any description under the scheme is being dene. Westport relief workers are still working pending the result of . a ballot which is being taken. WOMEN UNEMPLOYED. WELLINGTON, October 5 Mr H. T. Armstrong asked in the House, of Representatives, for a return showing: (1) That cost of the women’s delegation which toured New Zealand, at the request of the Unemployment Board for the purpose of investigating the work don e by the different Women’s Unemployment Committees; (2) the approximate amount of the tax paid, into the Unemployment Fund by women workers; (3) the total amount of money granted to. Women’s Unemployment Committees throughout New Zealand. He also asked for a return showing the amount received by each members of the National Expenditure Commission, including travelling expenses; also the total cost to the State of the Commission.
