RUGBY FOOTBALL
WESTLAND SUB-UNION. The weekly meeting was held last evening. Present: Messrs J. Stafford ( President), Freitas, McDonald, McGregor, Dowell, McCleary, Stopforth, Clujtbush and Heeinan. The final of the senior 1 knockout competition , was set down for Saturday next between Kiwi and Excelsiors, Mr J. L. Menzies being appointed referee. Accounts as scheduled were passed for payment. It was resolved that each member of the Sub-Union representatives in tie- West Coast team be presented with a pair of football boots, in recognition of their splendid play during the season. Tt was resolved to thank Mr W. H. Stopforth for his gift of scarves to the representative team. It was resolved to hold a victory and presentation ball at an early date, Mr L awn to, report next Monday. It was resolved' to thank the West Coast Rugby Union for the case and attention given the Sub-Union representatives. It was .also decid' d to thank Messrs N. Gifford and J. Devaney for the assistance given to the teams during the season.
