In ithe Pacific South-West Tennis Championship men’s singles semi-fina'e, iSatoh '(Japan) beat Austin (England) B — 6, 7—5, 4—6, o—6, 6—l. Perry (England) defeated De Stefani /(Italy) 6—3, 2—6, B—6, 6—3 in the men’s singles semi-finals. • - In the doubles j after losing the first set against Vines and Gledhill (U.'S.A.) 6—B, Perry and Austin won the second and tied & all in th e third, play was then stopped by darkness, and the deciding sets in the men’s doubles were postponed from Saturday until Sunday, when Perry, who meets.Satoh in the singles final, had refused, to play a preliminary match in the morning. Perry (England) beat Satoh (Japan), 6 2, 6—4, 7—5. The Japanes© was fair off the style which h e had exhibited against Vines and Austin.
