BY MR SAMUEL M.P. IF STATEMENT 1$ DISPROVED. (Per Press Association — Ccjyright.) WELLINGTON, September 26. An offer to resign ,the Thames .seat on certain conditions was made by Mr A. M. Samuels (.Coalition) yesterday in replying to the Prime Minister’s challenge. “I am prepared to debate ( the question ; jat issue on any public platform New Zealand against Mr Forbes 615 Mr,, Routes, or both of them,” said Mr Samuel.” ‘“lf 25 per cent, of the audience say I was wrong in declaring that a definite promise had been made in connection with th e question of the pensions of miners’ widows, namely, that legislation would be introduced to restore pensions, then I will resign rny seat. I am also prepared to resign on certain other conditions which I will mak© known later.” Asked whether he had officially severed his connection with the Coalition Party, Mr 'Samuel said h© ht.d not done so.
