The year bus been a particularly difficult one for Contractors and tradesmen. Few jobs of any sLe hav e been undertaken, and, generally, things have 'been bad. Now, however, good news has come along, (and if the present pians go along rightly, the end of this year and next year will see quite a busy period in building work. Several! really big works are on the way, and it is understood thiat, in one way and another, the projected expenditure upon new buildings in the c’ty is not far short of half a million pounds, and will probably exceed it.
