CENTRAL EUROPE
' ITALIAN SCHEME PROPOSED,
(United Pi-ess Association —By Electric ,2 T’dlegrktih—Copyi’ighfc.)
STBfiSA, September 9. An Italian scheme Has been fomulat« ed for increasing the export of the Dnnublan Counties’ grain. The scheme rejects the idea of tariffs preference, and favours organised marketing. The scheme provides that the Danu* bian States shall reduce tlieir general tariff on both European and non-Euro-pean goods as a compensation for the European purchase of Danubian grain. It also proposes that all of the European countries should contribute to a fund that would be used partly to improve the cereal- prices in central and eastern Europe, and partly to stabilise the finances of those countries.
The Germans are prepared to support the French scheme, with modifications.
