The death .is recorded of 'Sir Gib-. bort Parker,-' D.O JT,. Litt. D-, Ijl>,D; He was a well-known author; a native of Canada, and about seventy years of age. He was an extensive travel, ler, and for 18 years Minister for Gravesend of the British House of Commons. He was the founder and Chairman of the Small Ownership Committee in England, and organiser of the five Empire Universities Conference at London, and in war time controlled Britain’s publicity in America for two and a-lralf years. He published numerous novels, plays, a eliaij, poems, tfjnd a war hook, being comparatively a well-read author. The late Sir Gilbert Parker suffered a heart attach' on Sunday. He died at Whitehall Court. The newspapers recall his editorship of the Sydney “Morning Herald”, and pay a tribute to his services to imperial unity.
