FINAL TRIBUTES
PAID TO LATE ALL BLACK
FUNERAL OF E. P. PALMER

AUCKLAND, September 5
The funeral of the late E>. P. Palmer, the All Black footballer, who died on Sunday, as the result of an accident on Saturday in the match between Varsity and Otahuhu, took place to-day. The representatives of many Rugby (Mbs and other sports bodies attended the funeral, which took place at Otahuhu this afternoon. The pall bearers were Messrs F. Solomon and W. Caugliey (representing the Aill Blacks), Righton and Lucas, of the Ponsonby Club (Palmer’s former Club), and Pearson and Short (representing the Otahuhu Club).
Wreaths were sent from every Rugby Union in New Zealand and from every Club' in Auckland. Telegrams were received by the Auckland Rugby Union from every Union in the Dominion and from Mr W. J. Wallace, Manager of the 1932 All Blacks, in Australia, and Mr J. A. McLeod, Manager of the 1929 All Blacks, in Australia. Palmer was a member of both teams.
Evidence of identification only was given at the inquest into the death of the All Black footballer, E. P. Palmer, this morning. The inquest was then adjourned, pending the receipt of medical reports.
