MEN RETURN UNDER, PROTEST. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) GREYMOUTH, August 24’. The watersiuOrs of the Dominion had yesterday all come into line with the arrangement, whereby work is being done at the new wage rates and under the old working The new pay rates, however, are being accepted only under protest. The Greymouthf waterside yesterday worked the Kiwitea and Kartigi under these conditions which are to continue until the negotiations proceeding between the N.Z. Waterside Workers’ Federation and the shipowners are concluded. These ar,e now proceeding at a conference in Wellington, which is expected to last for a couple of days.
