On the way from Daylesford to Ballarat, H. Lewis, a diamond merchant, was robbed of nine thousand pounds worth, and in South Melbourne two women were robbed of one hundred and sixty pounds worth. In each case masked men presented guns, and in the second attack three shots were fired, after Miss Eileen Heinze, who was attempting to escape with a bag,of diamonds.
