The racehorse, Valmist, who was engaged in two events at Werribee races yesterday, was found lying in his box in agony, the victim of a doping plot. . Beside the animal was a bundle of grass not placed there by , the traine r Fish wick. A veterinary surgeon found the horse displayed symptoms of alkaloid poisoning, hut owing to the skilful administration of another preparation which * had, .dried up the* saliva, a swab could not be taken. The horse recovered rapidly after being given an alkaloid antidote.
