FOXTON,; August 4. -A young miaiiy William Thornton Pond proctor, of Foxton, was charged in the PoO'ice Court with taking a young unmarried girl under the age of 18 away from her home in'Palmerston North against her parents’ wishes for unlawful purposes. ‘ Constable Owen said the charge was the S sequel to the disappearance of a young girl from her home at Palmers ton-North during last week. Despite a gelarch by police, parents and friends, no trace or Her was discovered until, acting on information, he viiaited a deserted flaxcuttex’s’ camp twelvie miles upstream from Foxton at daybreak and there found Proctor and the girl. Proctor was remanded to appear in' the Palmerston North . Magistrate’s Court to-morrow. ■ V % ..
