ALL BLACKS LEAVE FOR N.Z

GIVEN A ROUSING SEND-OFF

■SYDNEY, July 29.

Taking the Bledisloe Cup with .them, the All Blacks sailed by the Zealandia this afternoon on their return. They had a rousing send-off by the N.S.W. Rugby Union officials and friends. The team wag farewelled earlier at the Hotel Wentworth, when the. cup was presented to Mr W. J. Wallace, on bsl-alf of the New South Wales (Rugby Union, by the President, Mr H. D. Wood, who remarked that the team was one. of the youngest and cleverest ever sent to Australia, and was equally popular on and off the field. Mr IVallace, acknowledging the sentiment of. th e presentation, said that he was extremely sorry to leave Australia. The hospitality was so wonderiul. . *

Other speakers at the. farewell were ■Sir Janies Payr, Mr W. Hull, and Mr W. Schmitt, the New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Australia.

The All Blacks had a jolly time last night at the Sydney University Sports Union’s ball, where they were the guests of honour. A dozen pretty girls gave them a surprise. Dressed in black football togs, even to the shorts, with their jerseys buttoned at the side of their ■shoulders, with large silver buttons, and with tirv black caps perched on the side of ;heir heads, th'v danced tl>eir own creation, the “All Black ballet.”
