WORK STARTS
AT RENOWN MINE, WITH VOLUNTEER LABOUR. (Per Press' Association — Copyright.) . HAMILTON July 8. The atmosphere- was tense at Renown colliery this morning. Tile mine commenced working with 18 volunteer workers, and live doze',l skips’ of coal had been taken out by 9 this morning. Tents equipped with .camp [stretchers have been erected alongside the mine to accommodate the volunteer workers. , A group of miners on strike are looking on but there lias been; no inter-' ference so far. The crowd is grow-' irig largo every minute. > Al] the bridges between Huntly and Renown mine are being patrolled by police.
