Wednesday night the premises of Ned Nixon a tobacconist, were entered and! ainumber of razors, shaving brushes, of tobacco and £4 from the till; Sere stol'en. Last night two men with a lorry were surprised a.t midnight at the coal and -wood yard of Ben Bullock, .Springvaie. Due ran away and hid in a paddock, and ;the other made for his home "where l he Avas arrested early this morning; Both men, Mark Twain Sheehy and diaymond Victor Chadwick were charged at Court with th-efc of firewood ■fTßih’-Bullocks and from Westport Coal Of j |5 ."SenloT Sergeant McLean intimated that ia) number of charges were pending a.gjaiiisi the accused, who were remanded for a : week. Firewood has been missing in large quantities of late from the depots.
