REFUSAL TO SAIL.

Almost simult|meftusly-;* -advice was received of the prospect of AVest Coast miners resuming work on Monday. The Kaimiro has hen diverted to Greymouth to> load coal, and sails tonight.
REPLY BY MR PURDY. GREYMOUTH, June 17. Mr Purdy (West Coast secretary), in reply to Mr Holgate, states that the miners never asked the owners for a national conference to discuss the national agreement. “The dispute is of a national character, hut the miners are simply asking for a district, unconditional conference, to discuss the district agreement. If the owners agree to this, the miners will resume immediately under the old agreement.” Mr Purdy is reply from. Mr Bishop. .v-SSfiT-"'.
