MAWHERA 7 v. ROVER B. 2, The experienced Greyniouth team defeated Rover B. fairly easily, as was expected, the' score being 7—2. in their favour; but Rover B. gave pleasure to their supporters by showing themselves a. much improved team. Mrs Buttand at centre-half considerably strengthened the team, but every member of the side showed improvement, and when they have become quicker in attack and in hitting they will do quite well. Mawliera appeared to be lacking in combination blit possess come first-rate players. J. Taafe, in the forward line, gives an object lesson in intellieut anticipation which every hockey player nmH admire; while M. Furness at centre-half >« invaluable to her side.
