ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK

PRICES AT YESTERDAY’S SALE.

CHRISTCHURCH, June 1

The general range of prices was lower at to-day’s sale of live stock at Addington. There was a larger yarding of store sheep. All classes were easier, except the, bert ewes, which met with- a ready sale. There was a larger offering of fat lambs, principally medium lightweights. Competition was/cautious. Best heavy lambs sold to 16s 9d, prime 14s 6d to 16s, medium 12s to 14s, light 9d 6d to 11s 6d, plain from Bs. There was a heavy yarding of fat sheep. A bigger percentage of prime heavy sheep wias penned. The market was easier all round.

There was a slightly larger entry of fat cattle. Better quality was in evidence, which met with a better sale. Medium and plain sorts fared no better than of late sales. Best heavy steers sold to £l2 7s 6d, prime £7 15s to £8 ss, medium £5 10s to £6 7s 6d, light from £3 2s 6d. Heavy heifers sold to £9 7s d, prime £4 15s, to £6 2s 6d, light' from £2 17s 6d. Best heavy cows’*sol'd to £6 12s 6d, one special £8 2s 6d; prime £3 15s to £4 17s 6d; medium 42s 6d to 3os; inferior from 255. Eat pigs were selling mere freely, especially baconers, owing to a short supply. Porkers fetched 22-s 6d to 28s 6d, heavier 30s to 37s 6d, choppers 50s to £4 16s; baconers, 42s 6d to 52s heavier to £3 IQs 6d-

Store pigs were in ’short supply, and consequently were firmer.
