In the ladies’ open golf championship, fourth round, Mrs Cheney beat Miss Brown 3/2, Mr's Clarke 'beat Wanda Morgan two up; Miss Montgomery beat Miss Ferguson 3/2; Enid Wilson beat Miss Graham 3/2. Semi finals.—Miss Montgomery beat Mrs Clarke 3/2; Enid Wilson beat Mrs Cheney, (the last American) 3/2.
LONDON, June 1
Miss Enid Wilson, the golf finalist, is twenty-two years of age. The other finalist, Miss Montgomery, is thirty, and she won the Scottish championship some years ago. Mrs Cheney, who has a great capacity for steady fives at long holes, and fours at shorter ones, went down ultimately to Miss Wilson’s superior length. Mrs Clark caused a surprise, by eliminating Miss Wanda Morgan, the English champion.
