ANNUAL SAVING OF £IO,OOO

WELLINGTON, May 31
With the object of saving a sum estimated at £IO,OOO a year, the Government has decided to o’-Cge both the Wellington and Dunedin Teachers' Training -Uolieg.i; at llm end of ' t'n.s year. This decision js in accordance witn a ieeu.il. lie.. duiioii of the National Expenditure Committee. It was announced by the AUnister of Education to-day.
Approximately 7CO teachers are al. present- unable to wcure permanent .appointment*. it is unlikely that any new students will be enrolled next year, when there will be a total enrol men t of 400—that is, 350 secondyp.'iv and 50 third-yeir -students.
