The three-year-old daughter of the
/Rev. Noel Cloutt disappeared on May 10th. from Belmont, near Newcastle, ' since when she had not been traced, and it was general'y belioved.itJiat she had been kidnapped. The child’s body was found to-day, two miles from her home, in an advanced state of decomposition. | As recently as Thursday Inst, her j hither received a letter demanding £2/50 for the return of his child. The .letter has ben handed over to the | police. i The police assert that there are no marks of violence or of foul play. Tt is presumed that the child became lost in the scrub, and died of 1 exposure and starvation. | The letter about the two hundred and fifty pounds is regarded as only ft heartless hoax.
