WELLINGTON, May 28

A scheme to assist the building industry by a subsidy for the consti uction and renovation of buildings, public buildings, dairy factories, freezing works, and factories for non competitive industries, also for the maintenance of business premises ie announced by the "Minister of Employment and the Unemployment Board. In cases where the work is approved, the amount of the subsidy paid will be 53 1-3 per cent, of the wages received, provided .it does not exceed 22s 6d for any person in any one week. New Zealand materials and products must be used wherever possible.
