SEVERE CUT

BULLER RELIEF MONEY. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WESTPORT, May 21. Last week-end the Buller Local Unemployment Committee’s allocation was cut down heavily, bringing single men down to one day per week and others in proportion. Before leaving for Greymouth, Mr H. E. Holland, M.P., wired Mr Coates re this matter and urged that the allocation be increased. The following wire from the Minister of Employment reached Mr Holland on Saturday afternoon:

“Have received your telegram with reference to allocation for unemployment relief at Westport. The matter is being looked into, and I shall wire yon further.”
