Citrine, opening the Federation and Labour International Joint Conference on disarmament, demanded the renunciation of war as an instrument of national policy. He added iluvfc Geneva had not began to discuss disarmament, but spent its time debating oil alternatives thereto. Essential requirements were fair treatment to Germany, and the prohibition of private manufacture and export of arms.
POSTAL EMPLOYERS STRIKE. SHANGHAI, .May 22. Three thousand postal employees struck fior the restoration of former postal rates which have been considerably increased recently.
