KOITERANGI DEATH
On Saturday morning Constable Drummond, stationed at Kanieri received word that Holland V. Wall, settler, at Koiterangi, had been found dead in his bedroom. On visiting the fairm the .Constable found the young man, aged 28 years, dead, having been shot in the forehead, from a fowling piece which was beside the body. The gun contained a discharged cartridge, jt appeared the ishon had been fired . while the young man was kneeling oil the floor, in which attitude he could reach • the trigger. There was no cause assigned for die deed, excepting the young mail’s state of health. He had boon about his farm duties as usual the day before, and retired at the usual hour. His father, Mr F. Wall, who had been assisting his son with the milking, resided nearby, and was the first to find the body, when he went to call his son for the morning milking. The body was brought to town during the day, and in the afternoon an inquest was held at the Police Office. The Coroner (Mr Evans) returned a verdict to the effect that the deceased was found dead, apparently from a gunshot wound, which had been self inflicted while in a depressed state of health. It was considered that death had been instantaneous. The family is wetll-known in. the district, and every sympathy is being expressed to Mr Wall and family in their sad bereavement.
