ABDUCTION CHARGE

NAPIER., April 7
An abduction charge against Percy William Roberts, of New Plymouth, a traveller, is being heard at the Napier Police Cburt. Police evidence asserted that the girl, who was 17 years of age, had gone to Gisborne with accused, with whom misbehaviour had taken place. When accused heard that the police were searching for him, he returned the girl to her home. One girl witness said that she had previously travelled with the accused and visited Taranaki, being left at Eltham while Roberts went on to New Plymouth. She understood'that she was going to Gisborne up till the time she heard that the other girl had gone in her place. The case is proceeding.
