BRITISH LABOUR
•PREMIER’S NEW PAPER. A TILT ATTHE PARTY. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, March 31. The Prime Minister, Mr MacDonald, writes an art idle for “The News Letter,” a new fortnightly paper, published by the National Labourites, costing two-pence per copy.
Mr MacDonald, .sharply attacks the existing controllers of the Labour (Party. He .says: “They may live to fight another day, but it will never be forgotten that at a time of grear testing, they turned tail and declined to do their duty. The National Government has enlivened a spirit of determination in our people to overcome difficulties and has improved the industrial outlook.
As regards free trade, the Government had to face facts and take steps to balance trade, and protect our markets against cut-tfiroat competition. In this matter, the Labour movement has been divided for a l o ng time, but the trend of opinion is towards some form of protection.

Writing it) the first issue of the new fortnightly journal of the Nationalist Lnlxuirite's, “Thw News Letter,” Mr Ramsay MacDonald says:—“l am not ashamed to confess to the difficulties inseparable from the National Government, consisting of supporters of all parties- I shall do everything I can to keep it together until the Nation has reached stability and confidence.”
