At a meeting of the Local Government Loans Hoards forty-four applications for loans, totalling £265,000, were dealt with. Loans amounting to £250,816 were (sanctioned, including £181.400 for renewals, £51,075 for new loans. £10.500 loans for restoration of earthquake damage arid £4500 for unemployment, and £24 11, unexpended balance of previous loans, uns authorised to be used for other purposes. Tim baht nee, £15,090. of amounts submitted was either declined or referred Itaclc to the local authorities concerned for further consideration.
