WELLINGTON, March 18

That a general manager be engaged for the City Council’s business, was a motion proposed by Councillor S. Holm at It he C/ity 'Council's meeting lastnight. The .Mayor said that in view of the fact 'that a commission was to report in about a fortnight’s time he thought the proposal was premature. He asked that tht matter be allowed to stand until the commission’s report was under consideration. With the consent the mover, that course was decided upon. .
