AUCKLAND, March 17,

Gladys Annie Reeve, aged 34, a married woman wa§ sent to gaol tor one moiltih, and her sister Enid GaspaTich, aged 31, also a married woman, wa,s sent to gaol for a fortnight for shoplifting. The former said that the latter was under her (Reeve’s) influence. The police declared that the woman had no need to steal, as one had over £6 with 'her, and the other over £3. The police also said that shoplifting was becoming as common as drunkenness in Auckland.
