SENTENCES AT WELLINGTON.

BREAKING, ENTERING AND THEFT

WELLINGTON, March 17. The following prisoners were sentenced* to-day by Justice Ostler: —■ John Alfred Foote, breaking and entering, and theft, at Marton, two years’ probation, and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution £1 Is within one month.

Samuel Hooke, and William Wallace, breaking, entering and theft at Wellington, and being in .possession of housebreaking instruments,, two years’ probation, and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution, 10/6 each. James Ogden Alexander, three charges of forgery and uttering at Nelson, and one charge of false pretences, six months’ on each, concurrently, also concurrent with a term of three months' at present being served. George Alexander Wilson, and James Howard Goifin, breaking, entering, and theft, and breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime, and theft, four years’ hard labour, to be concurrent with two years’*at present being served.

John Colston, and Albert Edward Owen, breakng and entering by night at Hastings, and committing theft, breaking and entering, and theft, committed to Borstal for a term not exceeding three years’ concurrent - with terms at present being undergone.
