AUTHOR VJSITS NEW ZEALAND (By Telegraph—ter trets Association, WELLINGTON, March 15. An arrival by the Ulimnroa, to-day, from Sydney, was Major Gordon Home author and artist, and member of the Board of Control of the Empire Development Association, London. He is accompanied by Kis wife and is on a world tour. He said that he hoped to see some members of the Government with a view to seeing if there are any projects the Government is anxious to push forward. There was capital in England waiting to be invested in sound concerns, both Government and private. The Empire Development Association would investigate any scheme put forward by complaints or individuals.

DUNEDIN, March 15
A discussion took place in committee at a meeting of the Dunedin Manufacturers to-night on the amendments proposed in the Arbitration Bill, • non before Parliament.
The trend of discussion showed clearly that a large number of the ,manufacturers are distinctly opposed to any legislation that will have the effect of abolishing the Arbitration Court.
