SHIP’S PASSENGERS SEARCHED. WELLINGTON, March 4. Before the Mamma sailed to-day for -ydney, detectives visited the ship and searched several passengers, and confiscated varying amounts of gold. Four or five passengers were concerned, and the amounts seized ranged from twenty to thirty pounds Til© passengers were allowed to proceed. The police had received information that gold was being taken out of the country, and consequently carried out the search.
