SUSPENSION OF PUBLIC WORKS
LOCAL BODY INDUSTRIES
Yesterday the following telegram was received by the County Chairman (Mr M. Keenan) from the Rt. Hon. Minister of Public Works. "Financial position necessitates a review of all road authorities held by local bodies. All such authorities held by Town Council are therefore being cancelled as from to-dav, but where contracts have been let or definite commitments made Government will consider issuing fresh authorities for these works only.

Kunuira-Cbe.sterfield road, £179, £2 for £1; only a small expenditure in metalling.
