RED LETTER DAY. SYDNEY, February 25. Sydney newspaper remark on the striking coincidence that the two latest additions to the Australian Overseas trade, the Matson liner "Mariposa, ' P. and (iV. “Strathnavar" which should reach Sydney to-day. Both majestic vessels arrived in the purple mist s early this morning, which later became bright and sunny and exhiliratiug, affording passengers and tourists the unique opportunity of seeing the harbour and Sydney at its best. The Mariposa's tourists, led by Mr Louis Stone, director of the enrse. were given a civic reception. A group of the Strut hnaver’s passengers were wel- * coined by the Lord Mayor. Noteworthy speeches covered a large range! of subjects, the keynote of which was I trade reciprocity. !
