SMALLPOX
OUTBREAK ON STEAMER. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) BRISBANE, January 13. Two cases of smallpox occurred on the freighter Victoria City, now anchored at Moreton Bay. The whole crew have been placed in quarantine. The chief medical officer of the Department of Health, Dr, Welch, stated as Queensland wa s an unvacemntod community, its position in view of a possible occurrence of smallpox was alarming.
