MELBOURNE’S “NEW GUARD.” (Australian Press Associatibn.) MELBOURNE, January 12. An organisation, styled “The Order of Silent Knights,” has announced itself in Melbourne. Its objects are similar to those of the “New Guard” of New South Wales. This organisation has been in existence for (twelve months past, but it lias refrained from making any public announcement until it has cleared up questions regarding its legality. Its present strength is two thousand. ! It is not affiliated with the “New Guard.” LEGAL ACTION PROBABLE. AGAINST LEADER’S STATEMENT. SYDNEY, January 13. Lang’s Cabinet has considered the attitude of the New Guard, also the statements made by its leader, Colonel Eric Campbell, about the Lang administration, with a view to taking legal action against him.
