THREAT IN MANCHURIA^ REPRESENTATIONS MADE TO JAPAN. MIL IT ARY ACTIVITY. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright-' WASHINGTON, December 24. New representations to Japan to prevent hostilities in Manchuria were announced to-day by the State Department, which said the Ambassador in Tokio (Mr Forbes) had been instructed to express again to the Japanese Foreign Office tile United States Government’s concern over the reports tintt the Japanese army is contemplating movements on CJiuichoiv. Mr Forbes lias been instructed to call the Japanese Government’s attention to reports from the military observers of several nations, including the United States military attache, to the effect that there is no evidence that China is engaged in or preparing for an offensive movement. The French Government has notified the United States that it was making similar representations. It was understood that the British Government would joiil, CHINA FEARS ATTACK. JAPAN TO USiTaLL AVAILABLE TROOPS. LONDON, December 25. ' The “Sun-Herald” News Agency learns that all the available Japanese troops will be used in South Manchuria. China is reported to be meditating a new appeal to tbe League of Nations if the Japanese attack the Chinese headquarters at Chinchow. Chinese representatives at Paris expressed to M. Briand China’s fear of a frelh attack.
